Seago Norfolk Beach Scene

‘Blue-chip’ English Impressionist landscape up for auction at Batemans.

A Norfolk beach scene by one of England’s ‘best-loved’ 20th century artists has been consigned for Batemans’ fine art auction on 2nd August.

Edward Seago (English, 1910-1974): ‘Norfolk Beach in Summer’, signed lower left, oil on canvas, with title plaque to frame and labelled verso, 48 by 58.5cm, framed, 62.5 by 72.5cm. Estimates: £10,000 – £15,000

Consigned from a significant and historic deceased estate in one of Stamford’s prime addresses, it has come to Batemans together with various other art, furniture, jewellery, books, ceramics, and collectables. We are looking forward to seeing how far it will go and what other treasures we can find as we sort through the many boxes and crates we collected!

Make sure you have a browse of our upcoming sale catalogue when it goes online on 26th July!
