Sale Highlights – Jewellery & Watches, Silver & Gold, Coins & Banknotes – February 2022

Another 97% selling rate… another sparkling success!

This was another hugely successful Specialist Sale, proving that Batemans certainly is the leading Stamford Auction House, and cementing our position as a Premier Auctioneers & Valuers in the East Midlands.

Only 5 lots out of 193 failed to find buyers, once again as close to perfection as we might ever hope to achieve – more than 97% of all the lots sold!

Jewellery: With a large private collection of over 100 Victorian and Edwardian gold brooches dominating the Jewellery section, and gold prices as strong as ever it was business as usual in this ever popular sale department. A Chopard 18ct white gold necklace with happy diamond pendant SOLD FOR £1,056 against estimates of £300-£500. A set of six 18ct gold bangles SOLD FOR £1,152 against estimates of £600-£800.

Watches: A vintage 18ct gold Rolex Submariner-Date Oyster Perpetual gentleman’s wristwatch, circa 1986, reference 16808. SOLD FOR £22,800 against estimates of £14,000-£16,000.
