Rare Rolex at Batemans of Stamford

A rare vintage 18ct gold Rolex Submariner wristwatch will be offered for sale on 18th February.

A rather special watch has been consigned for Batemans’ upcoming specialist auction on 18th February.

Not quite as rare as ‘hen’s teeth’ but 18ct gold Rolex Submariner wristwatches do not appear that regularly at auction, even less common are splendid vintage examples such as this one…

This recently consigned example is a model 16808 and has an 18ct gold case and 18ct gold strap. It dates to circa 1986 and was purchased by the vendor about 10 years ago from a private seller who had rarely used it since new. It has also been serviced by Rolex themselves in 2017, and thus is in fantastic refurbished condition.
