A Japanese Satsuma porcelain dish and cover By Kanzan Denshichi, Meiji Period, finely painted in enamels and gilt, of circular form, the gently domed cover with ruyi finial, the exterior decorated with a woven basket filled with flowers, seven scuttling crabs, and gilt calligraphic text to the lid with red signature seal marks, the whole raised on a circular rim base, signed in underglaze blue ‘Dai Nihon Kanzan sei’, 18cm diameter by 13cm high.
