A Chinese porcelain pierced dish, Qing Dynasty, mid 18th century, Qianlong period, decorated in underglaze blue centrally with a figure and houses in a river landscape, diaper border to inside rim, externally with scrolling border, unmarked, paper label to base, a/f hairline crack and chips to rim, 28.5 by 6cm high, purchased 3rd August 1935 from S. Hayashi, Japanese & Chinese Works of Art, Kyoto, Japan for 25 Yen. Provenance: The Estate of Mr Joseph B. Hay, son of Major-General Arthur K. Hay DSO OBE - 100 years of a military family.
