A collection of five early Victorian handwritten letters, dating from 17th November 1843 to 19th February 1845, featuring correspondence between Scotsman John Ferguson of Edinburgh and his father, Pringle Ferguson of Liverpool, covering the birth a grandchild, imprisoned family (including a tipsy uncle) and ending with a letter from another acquaintance announcing the death of his son (John Ferguson), all with some Penny Reds, four with typed transcripts.
