A French Louis XV serpentine fronted commode, circa 1760, by André Antoine Lardin (French, 1724-1790), kingwood and tulipwood veneered, with shaped grey marble surface, fitted with two drawers in the frieze, and two long drawers below, each with ormolu cast handles and escutcheons in the form of medallions tied atop with ribbon bows and leaf swags, raised on short shaped 'galbés' legs capped with a gilt sabot, stamped 'Lardin' and 'JME' (for jurande des menuisiers-ébénistes) atop the front right upright, 114 by 58.5 by 86.5cm high.

Provenance: Private Collection, likely purchased for the Chateau de Veauce in the Allie, France, and thence by decent through the de Cadier de Veauce family to current vendor.
