An 18th century Dutch Tobacco box, decorated with outdoor scenes with two couples enjoying a tobacco and drink, engraved with mottos to its lid possibly 'rooken is eep fragie kunst '('..smoking is a fragile art') to its lid, to the underside of its base 'Maar... is Nog beter giinst' ('but .. is even better yet'), and to its front 'HIER NAAR' ('TO HERE') 'NOG BEETER' and back ('EVEN BETTER') to its sides, 17.3 by 4.8 by 3.3cm high.

Provenance: Privately owned, Clipsham House, Lincolnshire.
