Two gold plated pocket watches, both open faced, keyless wind, with white enamel dials, black Roman numerals, minute track, and recessed subsidiary seconds dial, blued steel spade hands, comprising an Edwardian example by Thomas Russell and Son, Liverpool, screw case back numbered 2779323, stamped 'Illinois Watch Case Co, Elgin, USa, The 'Russell' Model', movement number 56703, case 54.5mm, 107.3g, and an Waltham example, circa 1935, with presentation inscription to dust cover 'Presented to Mr G. H. Oates, on his retirement after 42 Years, as a mark of esteem by fellow Employees on the L&NERy, January 1935', Dennison case back numbered 222282, Traveller grade movement number 27733764, case 50.5mm, 99.7g. Notes: Thomas Russell and Son is in working condition, winds and hands set well, keeps time across 1hr test, however Batemans cannot guarantee continued operation, the Waltham however only ticks for a few seconds and then stops, but winds and hands set ok.
