A vintage 18ct gold Rolex Submariner-Date Oyster Perpetual gentleman's wristwatch, circa 1986, reference 16808, serial 9171XXX, the black dial with luminous baton numerals, minute markers, and date aperture at 3 o'clock, signed in gold 'Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner, 1000ft 300m, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified', the 'Cyclops' sapphire crystal with laser engraved Rolex crown signature at 6 o’clock, self-winding movement, signed ‘Rolex’, cal. 3035, 44 jewels, serial 1540XXX, 7.0mm Triplock crown protected by guard, twin screw down pushers, screw down case back stamped inside ‘16800’, '18K', '750', 'Montres Rolex SA Geneva Switzerland', and with Helvetia head mark, on an 18ct gold Rolex bracelet, model 92908, with deployment clasp, stamped '18K', '92908', '750', 'Rolex SA', and with Helvetia head mark, dial 28mm, case 39mm, 44mm across crown, 20mm inside lugs, 156.3g, no original box or papers, but with Rolex service receipt dated 2017, new green soft service case, and Rolex Service Guarantee card and booklet.
Notes: in very good working condition, all functions appear to work well, winds and hands set well, keeps time across 1hr test, however Batemans cannot guarantee its continued operation, there are scratches and wear to the bracelet from use but the case, dial and movement are in very good condition, there is no box or any papers.
Purchased by vendor circa 2011 and rarely worn, serviced in 2017 by Rolex.
