A Japanese silver box and cover, Meiji period, inlaid with mixed metals and decorated in katakiri-bori and relief to the cover with a crane standing on willow branch, the full moon in the distance, against a copper coloured sky, inscribed and gold inlaid signature to cover, 'Kazuhide', presentation inscribed to the inside of the cover 'Souvenir of the Tenth Anniversary, The Nihon Seiko-Sho', cast seal marks to the base, 'Pure Silver' and 'Hattori & Co.', 14.6 by 10.6 by 5.0cm high, 802.2g.
