A late 18th century movement for a long case clock, by Thomas Rayment, Stamford, brass arched dial with silvered chapter ring, black Roman numerals, minute band and Arabic five-minute numerals to outer edge, subsidiary seconds dial centred by an engraved sun design, date aperture below a shaped name plate with engraved maker’s name, applied brass spandrels, arched dial top enclosing a ‘strike / silent dial, twin train 8 day movement chiming on a bell, the movement boxed in a white painted surround, with two weights and pendulum, without wall bracket.
