An Ardmore Ceramic Art jar and cover, painted by Jabu Nene, decorated with incised and contrast glazed abstract geometric shapes, inscribed to the base Jabu Nene 194, 16 by 20cm high, a ceramic bowl painted by Jabu Nene decorated with incised and contrast glazed abstract geometric shapes, inscribed to the base Jabu Nene 194, 19 by 13cm high, and an unsigned bowl decorated with a Cheetah and Proteas in black on a white ground, 20 by 8cm high. Notes: Ardmore Ceramic Art was founded at the foothills of South Africa's Drakensberg mountains, by Zimbabwean born ceramicist Fée Halsted, Ardmore's colourful works, adorned by a team of local artists, often take inspiration from wildlife and nature, but also from historic events and styles. A significant exhibition of Ardmore ceramics was held at the Sefako Makgatho presidential guesthouse in Pretoria in 1997, and Christie's South Kensington held a dedicated auction of the studio's output in 2007.
