A Chinese bronze censer, late Ming / early Qing Dynasty, of archaic form with two high stylised handles, the stepped rectangular pierced cover surmounted by a seated male deity holding a walking stick in high right hand and a circular dish in his left, the body with a frieze of lobed panels to the lower half, and two beast's heads below the handles, raised on four large cabriole legs issuing from the mouths of dragons, and with three toed feet, unmarked, 7.65kg, 27 by 27 by 41cm high.
