George Tinworth (British, 1843-1913) for Doulton, Lambeth, a stoneware Mouse Musician menu holder, dated 1885, modelled as a mouse playing the harp whilst a young mouse plays the violin as a cello, on an oval stepped base, glazed in brown, buff and blue, incised GT monogram to rear base of menu holder, impressed inside base 'H Doulton Lambeth', '1885', and with artist's marks 'EM' or 'WE', missing front grip of menu holder, damaged top of harp but piece present, 8.5 by 6.7 by 9.3cm high.

More Information

Missing front grip of menu holder and there is a chip to the side of the rear grip. The top of the harp is damaged and detached however the piece is present. There are some very small chips to the tops of the ears of both mice. The base has two very small chips to the lowest level (brown) rim. Otherwise this is in good condition with wonderful modelling and good glazes.
