A Victorian Sovereign change machine 'W. H. Ell's Patent Safecheck', the mahogany cabinet with glazed door enclosing brass change cups on either side of the centre and brass drawers below, the mechanism stamped 'Patent 22067', 21 by 18 by 45cm high.
Notes: These machines were located in large shops for people to change a gold Sovereign into 20 Shillings or a half Sovereign into 10 Shillings.
