A large George III gilt brass pair cased verge pocket watch, circa 1780, the full plate chain fusee movement signed 'Jno Ilbery, London, No. 1334', with flat steel balance, Tompion type regulator with numbered steel regulator disc, the circular engraved and pierced cock depicting a classical vase of flowers, foliate scrolls and a bird above, set centrally with a white 'stone' endstone, square baluster pillars, with a gilt brass dust cap held by a spring arm, with a conforming signature plate, scratched inside '1765', the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, minute band and outside 5-minute Arabic numerals, gold spade hands and replacement later third hand, stop/start level at 9 o'clock, inner case maker 'JA', the outer case decorated with white and pink paste stone set around the opening, further decorated with floral swags, the back of the case seemingly missing a central circular panel or plaque, with three holes remaining, dial plate 55.0mm, main plate 49.5mm, 6.5mm between plates, dial 55.5mm, inner case 62.5mm, outer case 79.6 by 22mm, 328.0g gross weight.
Note: hands loose and glass broken on inner case, in partially working condition, winds and does tick and run for 15mins plus, but hands catch on each other and eventually stops running.
