Rowland Wheelwright RA (b. Australia, British,1870-1955): 'Holiday Time', oil on canvas, signed lower right, with indistinct title, address and signature verso, 72 by 92cm, framed, 92 by 160cm. Possibly depicting the island of Sark, where the artist produced his most popular pictures, often bringing his models, like the Beacham sisters from the mainland to pose. Provenance: previously owned by the artist's sister-in-law, Martha Wheelwright, and passed by direct descent, sold Bonhams lot 139 on 25/06/2014, lately of The Fletcher Gate Fine Art Gallery, Nottingham. ***Subject to ARR***
